Media Strategy Manager – Midan Marketing

Overview The Media Strategy Manager is responsible for creating and overseeing comprehensive paid media strategies across multiple clients. This team member will manage and mentor Media Associates and Media Coordinators and will work to guide them on building out and executing paid media plans based on approved strategies. This team member is responsible for making unique paid media recommendations and being comfortable presenting to clients and key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple responsibilities and efficiently juggle a workload that will include shifting priorities and deadlines. This person has a passion for data and strategy and is comfortable working with the Marketing Analytics team and other strategist to ensure client goals, KPIs and brand standards are being met daily. The position requires someone who can take the initiative, seek out information from appropriate sources, and have exceptional follow-through. In addition to strategy and executional management, this role will also manage a team members of up to 5 people in media planning, buying and reporting.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, create and oversee execution of B2B and B2C paid media strategies based on client goals, using the marketing funnel to inform KPIs.

  • Manage a team of at least 5 team members.

  • Knows and keeps up-to-date on available market and consumer information necessary to prepare the most effective and efficient media plan

  • Extract insights from campaign data looking for relevant trends and provide campaign optimization recommendations to enhance and exceed client goals and objectives.

  • Exhibit clear understanding of overall client messaging and develop paid strategies that are integrated across different tactics.

  • Manage and guide the team to stay on budget and work with Media Operations to ensure proper IO process is being followed.

  • Review and provide guidance on media plans prior to implementation ensuring best practices are being used.

  • Working with the Associate Director, Media to interpret, coordinate, and integrate as necessary, all assigned media activities, including presentation to Account Team and the client, as required.

  • Maintain the best possible relationship with clients, the Account Team, and vendors to further the agency's mutual interests and clients.

  • Assist with new business pitches both in creating potential strategies, budget and KPI goals.

  • Work between teams to track and monitor media plan KPIs ensuring they are being achieved and maintain such records and prepare internal and external reports as necessary. Comfortable discussing data and KPI tracking with other integrated teams.

  • Is at all times alert to new media or new methods of using existing media and new developments, such as coverage patterns, circulation of rate changes. Informs the Associate Director, Media, Media Associates, Media Coordinator, and other Media Managers of such developments.

  • Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the planning function.
