Missouri Grown is an outreach program through the Missouri Department of Agriculture that promotes Missouri grown and Missouri made items, representing food and non-food products, retailers, farmers markets, agritourism and agricultural experience destinations. Missouri Grown connects consumers to Missouri's farmers and ranchers.
We are currently looking for a full time Agricultural Marketing Specialist/Senior Agricultural Marketing Specialist in the Ag Business Development Division, Missouri Grown program, to promote Missouri Grown activities statewide.
What you'll do:
Process new membership applications and implement the annual membership renewal process
Process Missouri Grown basket/box requests, including the holiday box program
Travel statewide to visit farmers and ranchers, potential Missouri Grown members and others who work with the Missouri Grown program in various capacities.
Assist with trade show booths at a variety of events throughout the year.
Work alongside the rest of the Missouri Grown team at the Missouri State Fair.
Collaborate with the Missouri Grown team and provide assistance and support to other team members and program areas as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicant must have good written and verbal skills.
Four (4) or more years of professional or technical/relevant experience in agriculture, education/outreach, business marketing or communications. Experience can come from a combination of direct work experience and/or completion of a bachelor’s or associate’s degree program.
Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
Preferred Qualifications:
Able to take initiative; be self-motivated; work independently as well as in a team; work well under pressure; be a creative thinker; and a good problem solver.
Ability to effectively communicate, especially as it relates to customer/member service.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn new software and database programs.
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of business and marketing.
Ability to organize and coordinate projects and meet deadlines.
