ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.
Leader of solicitation phone calls to past and current NCBA members.
Serve as a staff liaison with assigned state affiliates, their executives, staff and members to develop and create NCBA membership strategies, finalize and monitor state marketing plans, and help states execute their membership strategies to meet NCBA membership objectives (Primarily the Western States)
Serve as a membership program liaison. ( Example: Top Hand Club, Livestock Marketing Council, Breed Afilliates, etc.)
Represent NCBA at state affiliate conventions and meetings, and other events as needed
Help develop membership marketing materials, campaigns and execute recruitment mailings
Respond to member and affiliate requests, from mail, email and phone calls
Assist with administration of NCBA member benefit programs
Coordinate with the Director on recruitment and retention efforts of the Department
Collaborate with communications department to design and execute the production, and dissemination of membership communications
Plan, organize and maintain necessary files, mailing lists, prospect lists, and timelines to maximize membership and revenue development efforts
Advocate for NCBA members, affiliates and supporters
Assist with administrative duties relative to membership database functions
Perform other duties as assigned
Travel is required and extensive at times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Successful candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, agriculture communications, agriculture marketing, or a background in animal agriculture
EXPERIENCE – 2 years of experience of proven work history.
SKILLS- Must be pleasant, outgoing and at ease meeting new people, and a desire to make member service and growth a priority. Strong written, oral and platform communication skills a must. Proven experience with social media platforms is preferred. Knowledge about practices and economics of the beef cattle industry is required. Must have comprehensive knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Constant Contact and the internet. Experience with Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint a plus.
