Western Livestock Journal is seeking a motivated individual to lead our talented team as we build upon our 100-year-old legacy and expand into new markets. This position is aimed to build our presence in all phases of print and digital marketing. The individual would report to and work closely with the president of WLJ on all marketing material including the website, social media feeds, printed advertising and industry outreach opportunities like convention trade shows, seminars and speaking engagements. This is a fast-paced, rewarding and relevant position for the right individual.
Qualifications:
Minimum associates degree
Proficient in AP Style
Journalism, public relations or communications experience a plus
Ability to positively interact with staff, advertisers and subscribers
Adept at giving direction while maintaining a positive work culture
Skilled in effective communication and problem solving
Effective leadership experience preferred, but not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Adobe packages
Excellent working knowledge of grammar and linguistics
Duties:
Copy edit and fact check all articles, advertisements and digital content
Oversee circulation management, renewals, mailings, and prospective readers
Maintain a relationship with USPS and ensure newspaper meets all mailing requirements
Work with our printer on the weekly WLJ and special magazine projects
Assist production team with ad coordination, run sheets, and proofing
Perform other duties as needed
