AgriCorps is excited to introduce the new home for the next class of Fellows, the International Agriculture Education Fellowship Program (IAEFP), hosted by the Borlaug Institute at Texas A&M. Building on the work of five classes of AgriCorps Fellows, AgriCorps is partnering with the Borlaug Institute to support the IAEFP and continue our mission of advancing school-based agriculture education in Ghana. The IAEFP will recruit, train and support nine Fellows to become agriculture teachers and 4-H advisors during the 2021-22 Ghanaian school year.
For three years, AgriCorps worked with members of Congress to create the IAEFP, which finally found a home in the 2018 US Farm Bill. Funding was secured through appropriations in 2019 and will be administered by U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS). The Borlaug Institute and AgriCorps won the award earlier this year.
Fellows will continue to support 4-H Ghana, farmers, agriculture teachers and students within their communities.
