International Agricultural Education Fellowship Program

Ghana • Due Feb. 1


Requirements to be eligible for this Fellowship are:


  • US Citizenship

  • A completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited university on or before August 1, 2021

  • Ability to pass a physical exam by a licensed physician

  • Ability to hold a passport and travel internationally

  • Have experience with 4-H, FFA, or develop a plan to acquire the experience

  • A degree in agriculture or extensive coursework in agriculture

  • Official transcript of undergraduate and/or graduate degree

  • Essay explaining how your experiences and life goals will make you the ideal Fellow, how you will enhance the IAEFP’s mission, and how this Fellowship will benefit your success post-experience

  • Resume or CV

  • Two letters of reference including reference contact information


Timeline and Important dates


  • February 1, 2021: Application Due

  • February 2-18,: Applications under review

  • February 19: Candidate notification of advancement

  • February 22-26: Interviews

  • March 9-11: Offers made

  • March 25: Acceptance of offer deadline

  • April 1: Onboarding begins

  • April-July: Various trainings

  • August: Departure to Ghana

  • August: In-country training and departure to communities

  • August 2021-June 2022: Work and live in Ghanan communities

  • June-July 2022: Return to U.S.; post-experience debrief and post-service training
