The Executive Director, Creative & Content is responsible for leading the development of highly engaging content to build brand awareness for one of the most iconic brands in history – Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. This position, which is part of the Brand Marketing Department and reports to the Senior Executive Director, Brand Marketing, will lead our creative concepting and content creation team and work closely across other marketing and communications functions to develop campaigns that increase brand awareness and increase positive perceptions of beef. This position will oversee the development of content and design that focuses on the brand and consumer experience including digital platforms. Responsibilities will be executed in accordance with the beef industry’s Long-Range Plan and NCBA’s Marketing and Communications strategy and tactics. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions.   • Provides strategic direction for creative campaign and concept creation.

  • Leads a network of internal and external content creation specialists to deliver brand content that is rooted in research and inspires consumers.

  • Provides design and creative direction to outside agency partners.

  • Leads storytelling to ensure messages are compelling across target audiences.

  • Supports budget management, along with the Senior Executive Director, Brand Marketing, to manage and oversee a more than $2 million annual budget related to content creation for advertising, including audio, digital, TV and social media.

  • Facilitates ideation across teams for content creation as a part of campaign development and engages internal stakeholders throughout the development process.

  • Oversees and engages in the daily execution of campaign content creation for direct-to-consumer programs.

  • Develops concepts for content assets that support campaign execution that follow brand and USDA guidelines.

  • Utilizes consumer market research information, as well as core research and data to identify and determine the strongest messages for Beef. It’s What’s For dinner. marketing efforts across all media platforms and BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com.

  • Directly manages multiple creative team members and works in collaboration with other teams in order to execute annual marketing and promotion plans.

  • Directs national creative agencies in the development of campaign creative.

  • Ensures that messages and outreach methods are being optimized, working with the digital marketing team.

  • Leads production of campaign creative, assurance that timetables are met and appropriate stakeholders and staff are involved as needed.

  • Works with agencies and internal staff to take concepts from idea to execution.

  • Develops effective state advertising creative and materials for beef councils and internal needs, and provides consulting to states, national staff and other industry partners.

  • Acts as a brand steward by ensuring all program activities consistently reflect the Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. brand style, quality, and tone of voice.

  • Stays abreast of the latest digital technologies, design trends, including UX, eCommerce, and other disciplines that intersect with the brand creative team.

  • Moderate travel.

  • Other job duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, content production, graphic design/visual arts or related field.

  • EXPERIENCE - 15 years in content creation role. Food communication and/or agency experience a plus. Experience managing significant budgets.

  • SKILLS - Excellent communication skills, including both written and oral are essential. Proficient in creative suite technology. Team building and people management experience. Thrives in a collaborative team environment. High level of professionalism, trustworthiness, dependability, initiative, and collaborative style.
