The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture (CFA) is seeking a part-time education coordinator position to manage and implement several existing and new Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom (CoAITC) programs across the state. This position will work with prekindergarten through 12 teachers and students to advance agricultural literacy. This person will primarily be responsible for coordinating the following programs: 1) Colorado Literacy Project; 2) Journey 2050/Farmers 2050; and 3) teacher professional development events. Additional responsibilities would include assisting with the development of content for the Colorado Readers and other educational lessons, and helping manage and process orders received through the CoAITC Online Store.
Position responsibilities:
Promote and recruit teacher participation in CoAITC programs
Work with teachers and volunteers to ensure successful completion of requested classroom visits
Manage databases and coordinate teacher requests for programs
Conduct educational presentations in classrooms and at other events as requested
Develop agricultural lesson plans and materials to be used in Colorado classrooms, in virtual learning settings, and in-service trainings
Plan and lead in-person and virtual professional development sessions for teachers
Manage, prepare, and ship resource orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Organize and maintain educational resources, supplies, and keep inventory
Assist with the stewardship of sponsors and donors of the Foundation
Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, agriculture, or other related field of study
Teaching experience and background in education preferred
Agricultural background desired, but not necessary
Experience in planning and leading education activities with students and teachers
Enthusiasm, flexibility, and professionalism are a must
Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
Excellent decision-making, time management, and program coordinator skills
Proven self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and remotely
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Comfortable installing, navigating, and demonstrating gaming platforms on electronic devices
Experience or willingness to learn using various database systems
Passion to work in the field of agricultural literacy and to advance the vision and mission of the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture
Some travel may be required, including occasional overnight stays
