Nature of Work: This position is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of the marketing and communications team under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing. The Director will utilize expertise coupled with an understanding of management and marketing principles to implement processes to enhance the business of the Alumni Association. The position requires innovative, entrepreneurial leadership from a person passionately committed to the advancement of the association’s core purpose. The Director will possess the necessary leadership skills to optimize team performance and implement strategic initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing & Communications
Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing communications strategy which supports the mission and brand identity of the Association and the University.
Includes marketing campaigns, website, advertising, social media, all external and internal communications
Focusing on brand awareness and acquisition and retention of members
Product and program development
Market research
Oversee lifecycle marketing initiatives that build loyalty and drive engagement
Collaborate with data analytics team to analyze constituent data that will inform marketing strategy, including building marketing segmentation and targets
Superb verbal and written communication skills, proven craftsmanship in writing and editing, ability to write within an established editorial style. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
Lead strategic thinking to align content work with project and program goals
Effectively coordinates media relations for Association
Organizational Leadership
Lead, coach, develop and retain high-performance employees with an emphasis on developing capacity and facilitating employee success
Establish and maintain goals and objectives for teams to successfully accomplish annual benchmarks (goals, objectives and budget)
Work with leadership across the organization to develop communication to effectively market programs, events and assets of the Association.
Develop and implement Association annual marketing and communications budget
Effectively coordinate marketing efforts with university and campus partners to elevate the brand of Oklahoma State University and the Alumni Association
Provide excellent customer service to all constituents inquiring about Alumni Association programs and events
Represent the Alumni Association at University entity events
Collaborate with OSU, OSU Athletics and OSU Foundation to execute joint-venture events and activities
