The Director of Communications will work within Oklahoma State University’s Department of Brand Management and oversee university-wide communications and public relations efforts to enhance Oklahoma State University's reputation and support its mission and brand.
The Director is a member of the Brand Management leadership team and is responsible for strategic communications planning, presidential and executive communications, media relations and crisis issues management. This role is entrusted with confidential and sensitive material, exercises independent judgment and acts as spokesperson for OSU in media relations and issues management situations.
The Director has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of an effective strategic media relations program to enhance and influence the quality, quantity, and tone of media coverage for Oklahoma State University. This individual will also ensure OSU experts, scholarship, thought leadership, innovations in higher education, etc. are effectively promoted to various audiences across various communications platforms to enhance and protect the institution's reputation.
