Digital Marketing and Communications Director – National High School Rodeo Association


Denver, CO • Full-Time • Bachelor's Degree Required • Application closes March 4 The Social Media & Communications Director will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of NHSRA social media, public relations, media outlets and event prep.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bring a positive, creative and supportive attitude to the NHSRA team.

  • Actively participate, display leadership and show initiative during events and event prep.

  • Oversee NHSRA Website & NHSRA Store Website, currently supported through WordPress & Shopify.

  • Develop all web-based materials necessary.

  • Facilitate updating the NHSRA Websites with appropriate materials.

  • Create new pages and products as needed.

  • Create and maintain interactive online forms.

Social Media – Manage all aspects of Social Media including, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube and other digital marketing efforts including email distribution.

  • Create content.

  • Plan and implement digital marketing campaigns.

  • Schedule and execute email promotions.

  • Promote events and the NHSRA throughout the year:

  • Western Legacy Series

  • NJHFR & NHSFR

  • NFR Trips

  • Special Functions

  • Mid-Winter Meeting

  • Etc.

Membership Experience – Evaluate and initiate new ideas and trends relevant to current social trends.

  • Activate with national student officers

  • Repost and share member posts

Sponsorship/Business Development – Work with VP of Marketing to enact new and existing deliverable with new and current sponsors.

  • Assist with creating sponsorship presentations and proposals.

  • Assist in collecting analytics throughout the calendar year derived from related social posts, to be used for “Yearly Wrap-Ups” which will highlight all Sponsor exposure.

Event Prep

  • Travel to and from NHSRA national/regional events

  • Ability to prep the grounds for incoming contestants, families, vendors and visitors

  • Hang up signage in and out of arena

  • Assist with sponsor fulfillment

Communication Management – manage and promote the association through press releases and news outreach.

  • Manage local and national news related to the association events:

  • Radio Interviews/Commercials

  • Magazine interviews

  • Newscasts

  • Manage media partners that hope to capture and publicize NHSRA events.

  • Work with current photography team to capture and promote the association

Qualifications:

  • Passion for social media and youth

  • Able to communicate effectively with management

  • English reading, writing, math and computer skills required

  • Adobe Photoshop, InDesign &/or Illustrator

  • Canva

  • Dropbox

  • Camera skills – NHSRA has a camera for content creation

  • Mostly for reels and image capturing

  • Website design and maintenance experience, primarily through WordPress & Shopify

  • Similar industry experience

  • Ability to work 40 hours or more a week including weekends and extended shifts as business dictates

  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer (preferred)Ability to travel

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy e.g. spelling and event specific details

  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision

  • BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
