Description
The Competitive Educational Activity Coordinator Educational E will work in all areas of vents at the American Royal including Competitive but not limited to the World Series of Barbecue, Rodeo, Livestock Show, and Equine Shows.
Reports To
The Competitive Educational Activity Coordinator will report to the Director of Education.
Desired Experience
The individual will have experience in competitive educational events and/or contests, as well as in operations, managing volunteers, and an ability to learn and manage registration systems. The ideal candidate will be goal oriented, well organized with the ability to motivated, and very work independently, as well as collaborate with the to team members, partners and volunteers to achieve desired outcomes. Individual must be flexible in day-to-day duties, detail writing skills and manage their time oriented, possesses good communication and effectively.
Event Responsibilities
The attached list will outline job functions, roles and responsibilities for Competitive Educational Activity Coordinator. This list and reporting structure will be reviewed annually. This role will also perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Agricultural background preferred
Ability to work overtime as required
Education Events
Development and assistance of education focused contests at the Livestock Show, Equine Shows, Rodeo and Barbecue.
Examples include skill-a-thon, speech contests, job interview, etc.
Career and Technical Education Organization competitions including but not limited to FFA, Skills USA, FBLA, FCCLA, etc.
Help develop a new Photo/Art Contest
Manage Judging Contests
Assistance with 4-H/FFA Invitational Livestock Judging, Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Contests
Officials Contracts
Team and Coaches Registration and Communication
Awards Ceremony
Manage National 4-H Meats Judging, Intercollegiate Meats Judging Contests, Intercollegiate Crops Judging Contest
Awards Ceremony
Schedule Tours
Coordinate with sanctioning bodies
Development and assistance with new American Royal hosted judging contests
