At Smithfield, good food starts with good people. The Smithfield Corporate Affairs team is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, service-oriented team member interested in joining our growing group of internal communications professionals as our next Communications Manager.

The Communications Manager is responsible for:

  • Supporting Smithfield's employee engagement programs as a highly visible member of the Corporate Affairs team

  • Serving as a strategic communications partner for key internal stakeholders to include senior executives and other leaders in human resources, business management, marketing, manufacturing and legal

  • Overseeing creation, coordination and implementation of communication projects

  • Drafting, editing and managing the dissemination of corporate messaging and materials through multiple channels, including, but not limited to video, text, Intranet, digital newsletter and digital and print collateral

  • Managing the creative and communication needs of our U.S. locations and serving as a liaison for field Human Resource Managers

  • Developing and maintaining Smithfield's corporate brand materials and monitoring adherence to our corporate brand standards

  • Participating in the coordination of our global, company-wide awards program, including a two-day, in-person event

  • Serving as backup support for our Intranet and social media channels

  • Liaising with external vendors and agency partners on branded giveaways, corporate communications materials and events
