The office of the Lieutenant Governor is accepting applications for fall, spring and summer internships. College credit is available, subject to school or university requirements. Internship applicants must:
Be enrolled full-time in college or university program with availability of 12 hours per week
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs
Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong work-ethic, self-motivation, confidentiality, and the ability to function independently and part of a team
Throughout the legislative session, interns are responsible for wide range of tasks, providing them with substantial experience designed to meet academic and career goals, including:
Hands on experience learning about the legislative process, monitoring and reporting on committee meetings, tracking and summarizing legislation
Writing content for fact sheets, research reports, social media and more
Researching and drafting responses to constituent inquiries
Meeting legislators, cabinet officials and other elected officials; supporting with office events, including legislator meetings
Assisting with mail, telephone correspondence, and social media
