Position Summary
Communications and Event Management Internship in Lincoln, Nebraska
About
The Nebraska Corn Growers Association is a grassroots commodity organization that is advancing Nebraska corn farmers through leadership, policy and education. NeCGA has more than 2,400 dues-paying members in Nebraska.
The Nebraska Corn Board manages the corn checkoff investment working to increase the value and sustainability of Nebraska corn through promotion, market development and research.
Timeframe
Summer 2026 and/or 2026-2027 School Year
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist and coordinate communication projects, including:
Utilizing social media to share positive messages about agriculture and Nebraska Corn (Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.)
Write press releases, articles and other forms of written communications
Draft content/graphic design for newsletter, brochures, articles, etc.
Ensure accurate and updated information is shared with consumers and producers
Manage and update website, newsletter to members and weekly update
Assist with outreach programs and activities, including, but not limited to:
Husker Harvest Days, CommonGround Nebraska, State FFA Convention, Women in Ag, AgCeptional Women, trade shows throughout the year, Nebraska Corn Growers annual golf tournament (both local and state)
Internship will specialize on student’s interest and skillsets
Some travel required
Qualifications
Any student enrolled in a post-secondary institution located near Lincoln, Nebraska with the following qualifications:
Proven communication abilities in written, verbal and online forms of communications
Experience with design programs, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
Knowledge of social media/video editing
Ag background beneficial but not required
Preference will be given to students who are junior standing or above
Duration of internship will be in Nebraska Corn office
Hours Per Week
May – August: 40 hours/week
Office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (some work will be on nights and weekends)
Late August – May: 15 – 20 hours/week (will work with student’s academic schedule)
Other Opportunities
Evening and weekend events required occasionally
Vehicle provided when driving required

Graphic Design, Video Production, Web Design, Agricultural Statistics, Ag Policy, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Communications/Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing
