Communications Intern– Oklahoma Water Resources Center

Stillwater, OK • Paid • 10 to 20 hours per week

Seeking an intern to assist in the planning, promotion and social media curation of a Virtual Citizen Science Expo (VCSE). This is part of a project to work with rural and small librarians to plan water-themed informal science learning events and programs.


  • Create drought-themed content for education and promotion

  • Attend planning meetings with stakeholders.

  • Create professional deliverables: social media graphics, event flyers, posters, and other graphic design pieces and webinar/virtual space materials.

  • Coordinate with OWRC staff to coordinate promotions.

  • Draft and write press releases and news articles.

  • Design and manage social media strategy for the VCSE.


  • Experience with AP style, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro and photography.

  • Ability to manage social media platforms.

  • Strong editorial and verbal communication skills, including interviewing skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work independently and willingness to be a team player.

  • Willingness to learn from others and gain knowledge about water resources.

Paid Rate: $10 hour, from 10 to 20 hours per week maximum

Dates of Employment: Position Available Beginning Summer and/or Fall 2022
