Seeking an intern to assist in the planning, promotion and social media curation of a Virtual Citizen Science Expo (VCSE). This is part of a project to work with rural and small librarians to plan water-themed informal science learning events and programs.
Responsibilities/Duties
Create drought-themed content for education and promotion
Attend planning meetings with stakeholders.
Create professional deliverables: social media graphics, event flyers, posters, and other graphic design pieces and webinar/virtual space materials.
Coordinate with OWRC staff to coordinate promotions.
Draft and write press releases and news articles.
Design and manage social media strategy for the VCSE.
Skills/Proficiency
Experience with AP style, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro and photography.
Ability to manage social media platforms.
Strong editorial and verbal communication skills, including interviewing skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and willingness to be a team player.
Willingness to learn from others and gain knowledge about water resources.
Paid Rate: $10 hour, from 10 to 20 hours per week maximum
Dates of Employment: Position Available Beginning Summer and/or Fall 2022
