The Red Angus Association of America is seeking qualified applicants for an experienced communications coordinator in our Denver-based office. The selected candidate will pay a crucial role in the Association’s communications department by promoting the strategies, goals and attributes of the Red Angus breed and the Association.
Position Responsibilities
Design flyers, brochures, advertising and other supporting marketing documents to promote Red Angus entities and events.
Write news releases, Red Angus Magazine articles, announcements and other promotional materials on behalf of the RAAA.
Update websites, assist with TV episode productions, edit content, assist with digital advertising, edit and distribute electronic newsletters, manage social media outlets and other tasks as they become necessary.
Proficient writer who can accurately relay industry-specific information to multiple audiences.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite preferred, but not required.
Prioritize and delegate departmental work and manage communications interns.
Eligibility
Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter who has the ability to maintain his/her own schedule and paperwork requirements.
Must have the unique ability to apply creativity to marketing and communications opportunities and challenges.
Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting regular deadlines.
Must be able to work efficiently as both an individual and part of a team.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications, journalism, broadcast media and other applicable fields, or equivalent work experience.
Must have at least five years of practical experience in a media environment through education, internships or employment.
Must have a livestock or animal science background or experience.
