Overview The Utah Farm Bureau Federation (UFBF) has an opening for a Communications Coordinator. This position will produce and disseminate editorial content, with emphasis on social media, video production, and internal communications. Time also spent on media relations & advocacy/legislative communications, and communications work with the Miracle of Agriculture Foundation. UFBF is accepting applications from Aug. 12 through Aug. 20, though position will close when a qualified pool of applicants has been selected. For more information, see below. PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with management, production and creation of digital and social media content. This includes Utah Farm Bureau Federation (UFBF) and Miracle of Agriculture Foundation (MAF) websites & social media channels.
Produce and edit editorial content that is grammatically and factually correct and aligned with messaging priorities. This includes 2-4 articles per month included on the UFBF website.
Coordinating Foundation Communications. This includes communication with team members, maintaining records to track progress, assisting in fundraising efforts, managing correspondence to donors, supporters and partners, website management, assisting with ag literacy programs, etc.
Contribute to video, audio (podcast), and other broadcast efforts.
Assist with the production of materials for issue-related campaigns.
Preparation & distribution of UFBF Legislative & Internal Communication e-newsletters
Collaborate with the communications team to ensure that UFBF staff & volunteer leaders are prepared for media interviews.
Assist with communications/marketing related to Farmers Feeding Utah, Inc. (FFU Inc.)
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Travel as needed RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborate with state Farm Bureau staff and leaders, American Farm Bureau staff, grassroots members, as well as communicators from allied groups and government entities, to produce and disseminate content related to the policies, programs and goals of UFBF.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
2-4 years of experience in communications
Experience working independently and as part of a team, often with tight deadlines
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills • Creative, detail-oriented, organized, self-driven and capable of meeting deadlines
Knowledge of agriculture and agricultural issue communications
Experience working with video & audio (podcasting) production
The position offers compensation in the range of $45,000 to $55,000 depending upon experience.
