The Georgia Cattlemen’s Association and the Georgia Beef Board are currently accepting applications for the 2023 Georgia Beef Industry Internship. The position will pay $1,500/month for three months and the intern is expected to live in Macon during the summer. All travel expenses associated with program work will be reimbursed. Upon completion of the internship the selected intern will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Georgia Cattlemen's Foundation and Georgia Cattlewomen’s Association.
To apply you MUST meet the following criteria:
GA resident and a current member of Georgia Cattlemen's Association
Completed sophomore year by May 2023
Major area of study related to agriculture, applicants with agricultural experience in lieu of education will be considered
Must be available to work in Macon May – July 2023
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter with strong time-management skills
Responsibilities:
Intern will work with promotional marketing of the beef industry and will include work with the Georgia Beef Board and the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association. Internship is flexible to tailor to major area of emphasis; however, this internship will focus on a large amount of ag industry communications and association event management.
Specific Responsibilities:
Help manage social media accounts to reflect a positive image for GCA, GBB and all associated programs
Work closely with GBB staff to plan and implement activities to support beef promotions
Assist in planning and execution of GCA’s Cattlemen’s Connection Quarterly Meetings
Contribute to completion other industry pertinent projects as they arise
