The Clayton Yeutter Institute of International Trade and Finance seeks a highly motivated candidate to help sustain and grow the institute’s interdisciplinary programs. The assistant director will develop and implement plans and programs to advance the Yeutter Institute’s integrated education, public engagement, and research missions. Will help build strategic relationships in the agricultural and business community in Nebraska. Will represent the Yeutter Institute to other programs and departments within UNL and to stakeholders at external events. Will conduct research on international trade and finance and related areas to generate ideas for new projects and partnerships. Work with the director to help plan and execute seminars, workshops, and lectures related to the Institute; organize and administer the academic program of the Institute; conduct outreach to internal and external stakeholders; and publicize the activities of the Institute.
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, agriculture, international relations, political science, communications, or a related field plus one year of work experience in a university, government, business, or policy setting. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team. Experience must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask with attention to detail.
Demonstrated interest in an interdisciplinary program. Strong desire to learn about international trade and related topics. Prefer a self-starter bringing creative problem-solving skills to the job of helping build and grow a new interdisciplinary institute.
