Description This individual will collaborate with the President's office to design and develop a premier, dynamic, and transformative President's Leadership Council.
This position will be the team lead for President's Leadership Council (PLC), including recruiting, selection, PLC retreat, monthly co-curricular activities, and PLC brand development.
This individual will collaborate with high schools to identify and recruit high-level high school leaders into PLC.
Furthermore, they will focus on developing diverse cohorts of leaders into life-giving community leaders through dynamic leadership development opportunities. Through the development of the brand of PLC, they will establish PLC as one of the premier programs of the OSU Hargis Leadership Institute.
Collaborate with the President's Office to execute a prestigious PLC scholarship and leadership program.
Network with high school leadership teachers, counselors, and administrators as well as admissions professionals to identify great high school student leaders, encouraging them to apply to OSU and PLC.
Oversee the selection process, including managing the grading of essays, leadership resumes, and conducting virtual interviews, ensuring that we select the top student leaders.
Assist students who do not get into PLC by guiding them to other leadership opportunities at OSU through close partnerships with the academic colleges, HLI programs, and Student Affairs opportunities.
Oversee and manage student leaders in holding an annual leadership conference for high school students.
Develop and implement an assessment strategy that produces verifiable data demonstrating leadership development in PLC students.
Offer leadership in the Hargis Leadership Institute staff and stand in for the Director of HLI when they cannot be present.
Supervise PLC and TLX student workers.
Conduct and publish research and/or give presentations at national leadership educator's conferences.
Travel occasionally for retreats and recruiting.
Work occasionally outside of the 8-5 normal hours for retreats and recruiting.
Manage the PLC and TLX budgets.
Manage the PLC scholarship budget.
Lead a PLC study abroad opportunity, including managing the study abroad scholarship funds.
Manage HLI scholarship funds and selection processes.
Work closely with the Director and Endowed Chair to accomplish the HLI strategic plan.
Administer the Certificate for Ethical Leadership, which includes recruiting students to classes, scheduling the classes, and working with partners from academic colleges to ensure a thriving academic certificate program.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Leadership Development, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Strategic Communications, College Student
Five years of related experience in recruiting, selecting, and training student leaders
Experience in creating and sustaining campus partnerships
Experience in leading others
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Leadership Development, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Strategic Communications, College Student
Three years related experience working with high schools or recruiting leadership students preferred
Three years related experience developing college student leaders preferred
Expertise in program development or brand development
